If it's remembered for nothing else, and it almost certainly won't be, Uli Edel's "Pay the Ghost" can at least make a claim to being the first film to feature a haunted razor scooter in a horror setpiece.RogerEbert.comSeptember 25, 2015
A new low for Nicolas Cage. Just when you thought he couldn't get any more apathetic about a role, he pops up in this lazy, boring retread of "Insidious" that even his most diehard fans should ignore.Detroit NewsSeptember 25, 2015
Fine, sure, "Pay the Ghost" if you have to. But do not pay good American money to see the movie of the same name.New York TimesSeptember 25, 2015
Sludgy greens and smudged blacks assault the eyes, and crashing sound cues accompany every scare - dead giveaways of a director, Uli Edel, who trusts neither his audience nor his images.Los Angeles TimesSeptember 24, 2015
Tidbits that would make the film interesting have been squandered. Instead, we get the standard-issue haunted-house fodder.New York PostSeptember 24, 2015
In "Pay the Ghost," Nicolas Cage investigates a supernatural abduction but has no solution for the maggot-eaten zombie that is his undead career.CinencuentroMay 16, 2016
An average film that never really quite works. [Full review in Spanish]Cairo360April 01, 2016
Pay the Ghost is not as a complete time-waster as some of the actor's previous films. But it's still not smart or crafty enough to do much to regenerate and restore the actor's already tarnished flailing career.Cine 140January 21, 2016
Only for die hard fans of Nicolas Cage. [Full review in Spanish]GaruyoJanuary 17, 2016
It is a bland attempt of supernatural horror that becomes more and more embarrassing in every imaginable aspect. [Full review in Spanish]En FilmeJanuary 15, 2016
The director tries to scare us with jump scares and high pitched music, but as the film advances it becomes an involuntary comedy. [Full review in Spanish]Cinema MovilJanuary 15, 2016
Lacking horror and full of failed jump scares, this is another forgettable film by Cage. [Full review in Spanish]
